What is the parents's portal and how can I use it to check my child's progress at school

The portal allows parents or guardians to access information and resources related to their child's education, pay school fees, send pocket money, access academic and financial statements from the school, etc

There are two ways parents can access the portal:

Via USSD by dialling '*483*10#'
Accessing the parents portal through USSD provides the easiest way to follow the day-to-day progress of your child while at school. Works on any phone and does not need an internet connection. There are no extra charges you only pay one shilling per session - from the time you dial the code till you exit. It works on both Safaricom and Airtel networks - same shortcode; same great service.

Sematime mobile app
While USSD is great for a quick status update it is quite limiting on the amount of information it can display. For example, it's not possible to display academic reports such as report cards, result slips or payment receipts from the school. For that you need the Sematime mobile app.

The app lets you do more in a well thought-out, deeply enriched and satisfying user experience. Access more insights and analysis on your child's performance, download invoices, payment receipts and fee statements, access class attendance roster and view discipline cases.

Download the app from Google PlayStore by clicking on this link - sms.ke/app. It is free of charge and only needs you to be connected to the internet.

Indeed the parents portal is Shule yangu mkononi - all you need from the school at your fingertips. Whether using a smartphone or a feature phone(mulika mwizi) you can keep with your school wherever you go.
