How to set subjects grouping for 8-4-4 secondary school exams
Under the 8-4-4 curriculum secondary school students in Kenya take up to eight subjects but not all of them are considered when computing final mean score and class ranking. The 'subjects grouping' rules specify which subjects fall under which group those that are mandatory and those that are optional.
To get started, go the 'Home' view menu and select 'Settings' then open the 'Subjects' section and click on the 'Subjects Groups' tab as shown below. Choose the year groups where subject grouping applies then save changes.
There are 5 subject groups as set by Kenya National Examinations Council(KNEC) each with its constituent subjects and grading rules. To learn more, check out this article - https://www.nexxushub.com/blog/KCSE-Secondary-School-Subject-Selection
