How to publish an exam after all marks have been entered by teachers
Publishing an exam is the last step of the marks entry process and should be done after all teachers have entered their marks. When you publish, Sematime locks the exam and prevents further entry or editing of marks thereby preparing the exam for the next phase of 'exam analysis and report generation'
To publish an exam, go to 'Home' view on the topbar and select 'Exams' from the menu then choose the exam whose marks you want to publish. Then click the 'Publish Exam' button as shown by the red circle below.
Before accepting and process the raw marks Sematime analyzes the marks for errors such as missing marks, marks that are more than the maximum score etc. If errors are found, the system will highlight them and give you an opportunity to rectify.
It is expected that you will rectify all the errors before publishing. However, there are instances when this is not tenable especially if some students did sit a particular paper or were absent during the exam period. You may choose to ignore these errors and proceed to publish in which case the system will prompt you to confirm if indeed you wish to proceed. Click 'Yes, Publish'
After publishing, the exam now moves to the 'Published Exams' section from where you get to see some basic exam analysis: top students per class, class performance ranking, subject performance ranking, grades distribution etc. You can also click 'View Results' to see the 'Broadsheet' for each class.
