How to edit or delete an invoice

To get started, select the 'Invoices' option from the 'Home' view menu and then open the 'Sent' invoices tab as shown below. Start by searching for the invoice you are interested in using the invoice number, student name or admission number. Then click select 'Edit' from the 'Invoice Actions'.



The invoice editor dialog window will show up allowing you to make all the necessary edits. Remember to click 'Save Changes' when finished.



If the invoice selected already has payments applied to it then you cannot edit it. You'd need to remove the payments first before proceeding. Check out - How to edit or delete a payment.



The process of deleting invoices is similar only that you will select the 'Delete' option from 'Invoice Actions' button.



You will be prompted to give reasons for deleting the selected invoices. Please note that payments from deleted invoices will automatically get converted to 'prepayments' - How to check school fees prepayments and reconcile them with unpaid invoices



Sematime keeps copies of all edited or deleted invoices for the purpose of audit and scrutiny. Use the 'Edited' or 'Deleted' tabs to view them.
